Before You Start
You need a valid Google Ads account which you will link to your XPO Advertiser account. Carry out the following tasks in this order before launching a Google Search campaign in XPO:
- Grant XPO access to your My Client Center (MCC) account.
- If you have an existing valid Google ad account link it, otherwise, create one.
- Link your valid Google Ad account to XPO.
Campaign Level
- Choose the Google Ad Account that you would like to use and set the Google Ads Campaign Type to Demand Gen.
- Enter your Campaign name.
- Set the Campaign Objective based on the type of campaign you wish to run.
- Select a KPI (optional) and Google Ads Campaign Goal.
- Set a Start Date and End Date for your campaign, and the Time Zone in which you wish to run your campaign.
- Set an Overall Budget Cap for the campaign to spend (the total budget allocated to run this campaign), as well as a Daily Spend Cap (the maximum amount spent per day for the length of the campaign).
- Select the geo location(s) and/or language(s) you wish to target with your campaign.
- Choose whether to enable cross-device attribution and Google Ads Conversion Goals.
- Click Save once all steps are completed to confirm changes.
Ad Group Level
- After creating the campaign, click +Ad Group
- In the ad group, enter Ad Group Name
- Geo Location, Language and Bid Strategy will follow the campaign level settings.
- Click Save once all steps are completed to confirm changes.
Adding Creatives Into Ad Group
- In ad group level, select Creatives and click Link Creatives.

Select the creative/s and click Save. Once creative is saved, click Save again to complete the steps.
Congratulations! You have successfully created your Demand Gen campaign.
How to Create Demand Gen Creatives to add into Ad Group?
- On the main menu bar, go to Creatives and select Creatives. After that click +Creatives.
- In the Creative Name, enter the name.
- Under Creative Type, choose Google Ads and select Demand Gen and click Submit.
- After clicking submit, reselect the creatives from the dashboard to add the assets.
- Fill in all required fields such as final URL, ad format, media library assets, logos, headlines, description, CTA and Business Name. Click Save once all have been filled up.
- On the main menu bar, go to Creatives and select Creatives. After that click +Creatives.
