Before launching your campaign, you can embed a conversion pixel (tracking script) into your website at least a month in advance to start collecting user data.
You can also consider embedding a remarketing pixel into your website. For more information, please refer to the article on How Do I Embed XPO Remarketing Pixel on to My Website?.
Example Scenario:
You are hosting an art event and want to track users at various stages of your booking process until they reach the final purchase page (i.e. "Thank you" page).
Steps:
- Create a conversion goal.
- Add a funnel (include all the steps that will be tracked using your conversion pixel).
- Create a Conversion Goal, and call it "Booking".
- Specify the stages of your funnel. In this scenario, your stages are as follows:
Billing Info → Review Summary → Thank You
- Download the conversion pixel and embed the respective tags in the <body> section of each page (Billing, Summary and Thank you).
- Embed the Billing Info pixel into the Billing URL. This will allow you to track users who have added your product to their cart and reached the billing page.
- Embed the Review Summary pixel into the checkout page. This will allow you to track users who have filled out their billing details, but may not have completed the booking.
- Finally, embed the Thank You pixel into the final page to track users who have completed the booking.
