How To Set Up Creatives Via 3rd Party Ad Tags

If you wish to run Third-party Ad Tags on XPO from a Third-party Ad Server, follow the instruction below:

Display/Banner Ads

1. Under the Creatives menu,  click +Creative.
   
   
   
   
2. Enter a Creative Name to easily identify later. 
   
   
3. Select the Display creative type, and click Third-Party.
   
   
   
4. Select a Third Party Type. 
   
   
   
5. Complete the remaining required fields.

6. Click Submit to finish setting up your creative.

Video Ads (VAST/VPAID)

1. Go to the Creatives menu and click +Creative.
   
   
2. Enter a Creative Name to easily identify later. 
3. Select the Video creative type, then click Third-Party Video Ads.
   
   
   
   
4. Complete the remaining required fields.

5. Click Submit to finish setting up the creative.
   
   
6. Select your newly created creative from your Creative Dashboard. Click on Design Creative to be redirected to XPO Designer where you can customize your creative.
   
   
   
   
7. In XPO Designer, you can either upload a VAST/VPAID XML file or input a VAST/VPAID URL.

  • Preview: to preview your creative
  • Save: to save all your settings
    
    
    
    
8. Click Publish to finish designing your creative.

Testing and Checking the Creative

Once you have set up the creative and embedded the third-party ad tag, you can start testing it.

1. Click on the creative that you have just created.
   
   
2. Click on Test Creative. A pop up will appear (NOTE: you may need to enable pop-ups in your browser settings).
   
   
   
3. XPO Playground will display the loaded third-party ad creative. Click Preview on Custom Website to view it.
   
   
   
   
4. Insert the Custom website URL where you wish to preview or test the ad, and click Render.
   
   
   
   
5. XPO Playground will load the website you provided, and the ad will be displayed in the available inventory space on the site.

Link Creative to Ad Group

Once you have finalized your creative, you can link it to the respective ad group. Refer to the Prerequisites for Applying Targeting Settings on Ad Group Level article for more instructions.
