Targeting Option - Search Ad Group

Once you have completed setting up the prerequisites for applying targeting settings (the article is here), you may start applying filters for ad groups across channels.

Follow the video and steps below: 

1. Log in to XPO Media Broker, click on Campaign tab. Select the campaign that has the "AdWords" logo beside the subtitle.

2. Click on the AdWords Ad Group you have created to enter the ad group level. To learn how to create a AdWords ad group, refer to this article.

The Performance area of the dashboard shows the performance of the ad group graphically, in real-time. The dashboard includes metrics such as impressions served, revenue, click-throughs and budget spent. Users have control over the time period for which the data is shown by adjusting the calendar.

3. A few of the targeting filters for AdWords is already determined when you set up the ad group. Follow the video and steps below to complete the ad group targeting settings:

1. Ad Group Info
Click on this option to see and edit all the information pertaining to the ad group including budget cap, bidding strategy, and ad rotation options.
2. Audience

The audience targeting filter allows you to select a specific group of audience. To set up an AdWords audience group, refer to this article for further instructions.

To add an existing audience click on +ADD button and select the desired audience. Click Save button to confirm the changes.

3. Day & Time
This filter allows users to decide exactly on what days and at what times ads are served and the campaign runs. This filter can be applied by clicking the mouse over the highlighted area and selecting/deselecting each time slot. Click Save button to confirm the changes
4. Geography

This is determined when setting up the ad group. You can make changes here if you wish.

5. Interest
This is determined when setting up the ad group. You can make changes here if you wish.
6. Demographics

Include or exclude based on age, gender, and household income groups.

7. Creatives
Click on Link Creatives and select the creative you would like to add. Click on Save button to confirm the changes.
8. Extensions

Click on +ADD and select the extensions you would like to add. Click on Save button to confirm the changes. Note that the extensions will be applied to all creative that you have added in the same ad group.

9. Keywords
This is determined when setting up the ad group. You can make changes here if you wish. The + Automatic bid phase feature helps you to automatically determine relevant keywords based on the URL you input or the segment you choose. If you wish to change the keyword match type for certain keywords, tick the respective boxes and click on Action. 
10. Languages

This is determined when setting up the ad group. You can make changes here if you wish.

11. Devices

By default, Desktop, Mobile Phone and Tablets are automatically included under Device targeting setting.
