Before you start
Set up the necessary prerequisites for audience targeting settings.
Instructions
- From your Campaigns dashboard, select a Search campaign.
- Click on the Search Ad Group you have created to enter the ad group level dashboard. To learn how to create a Search ad group, refer to this article. From the ad group dashboard, you will see:
The Performance area of the dashboard, which displays real-time numerical and graphical data for your ad group's performance. The dashboard includes metrics such as impressions served, revenue, click-throughs and budget spent. You can adjust the time period of the data shown by editing the calendar dates. - A few of the targeting filters will already be determined when you set up the ad group. Follow the video and steps below to complete the ad group targeting settings:
- Ad Group Info: Click on this option to see and edit all the information pertaining to the ad group including budget cap, bidding strategy, and ad rotation options.
- Audience: The audience targeting filter allows you to select a specific audience group to set up a Search audience group, refer to this article for further instructions. To add an existing audience, click +ADD. Click Save to confirm your changes.
- Day & Time: This filter allows you to choose the days and times in which your ads are served during your campaign. You have the option to choose to show your ads during All days, Weekend only, Weekdays only, Weekdays (9am-5pm), or a custom date and time period that you can highlight in the graph provided. Click Save button to confirm the changes.
- Geography: This filter is determined during ad group setup and can be modified if needed.
- Interest: This filter is determined during ad group setup and can be modified if needed.
- Demographics: You can add a filter based on age, gender, and household income groups.
- Creatives: Click Link Creatives to select the creative you would like to add. Click Save to confirm your changes.
- Extensions: Click +ADD to select the extensions you would like to add. Click Save to confirm your changes. Note that the extensions will be applied to all creatives linked to the same ad group.
- Keywords: This filter is determined during ad group setup and can be modified if needed. The + Automatic bid phase feature helps you to automatically determine relevant keywords based on the URL you input or the segment you choose. If you wish to change the keyword match type for certain keywords, tick the respective boxes and click Action.
- Languages: This filter is determined during ad group setup and can be modified if needed.
- Devices: By default, Desktop, Mobile Phone and Tablets are automatically included under the Device targeting setting.
