1. Types of Creative

On XPO Media Broker, there are 6 creative types available:

Display Native Standard Banner Video Facebook Search

  • Dynamic Display Ad
  • Third Party Tag

To find out information about supported ad formats, sizes and specs for each type of creative, refer to this article.

2. Setting up Creative

Setting up Display / Standard Banner Creative

Display and Standard Banner have the same step-up steps. Follow the instruction below:

1. Under the Creative menu, click on +CREATIVE.

2. Select Display or Standard Banner.

3. Fill in Creative Info:

  • Creative Name: give creative a name you will remember and be able to quickly identify.
  • Advertiser: which can be selected from the dropdown list
  • Channel: choose either Web or Mobile
  • Where will this creative be displayed?: you need to create a separate creative for China. Otherwise, select Worldwide (excl. China)
  • Where do you want the users to go?: input website landing page that you wish to link to the ad
  • Start Date, Timezone and End Date: the duration for which the ad will run
  • Will this creative end?: select either yes or no
  • Size: which can be selected from the dropdown list. If you cannot find the size you need, please reach out to your Knorex Account Manager.
  • Third-party Trackers: key in the information in case you want to add more trackers to the ad

4. Once done, click on Submit.

5. Click on the creative you have just created from the list under Creative tab, it will bring you inside the page of that creative. Click on Design Creative and will redirect you to XPO Designer where you can customize your creative. Check out this video for more step-by-step guide.

Setting up Native Creative

Follow the steps below to create a Native ad:

1. Under the Creative menu, click on +CREATIVE.

3. Fill in Creative Info:

  • Creative Name: give creative a name you will remember and be able to quickly identify.
  • Advertiser: which can be selected from the dropdown list
  • Channel: choose either Web or Mobile
  • Where will this creative be displayed?: you need to create a separate creative for China. Otherwise, select Worldwide (excl. China)
  • Where do you want the users to go?: input website landing page that you wish to link to the ad
  • Start Date, Timezone and End Date: the duration for which the ad will run
  • Will this creative end?: choose either yes or no
  • Third-party Trackers: key in the information in case you want to add more trackers to the ad

4. Once done, click on Submit.

5. Click on the creative you have just created from Creative list under Creative tab, it will bring you inside the page of that creative, fill up the details.

6. Fill up the details.

7. Click Save to finish.

Setting up Video Creative

Follow the steps below to create a Video ad:

1. Under the Creative menu, click on +CREATIVE.

3. Fill in Creative Info:

  • Creative Name: give creative a name you will remember and be able to quickly identify.
  • Advertiser: which can be selected from the dropdown list
  • Where will this creative be displayed?: you need to create a separate creative for China. Otherwise, select Worldwide (excl. China)
  • Where do you want the users to go?: input website landing page that you wish to link to the ad
  • Start Date, Timezone and End Date: the duration for which the ad will run
  • Will this creative end?: Choose either yes or no
  • Third-party Trackers: key in the information in case you want to add more trackers to the ad

4. Once done, click Submit.

5. Click on the creative you have just created from Creative list under Creative menu, it will bring you inside the page of that creative. Click on Design Creative and will redirect you to XPO Designer where you can customize your creative.

6. On XPO Designer, Double click within Video Banner to upload a video (Video file should be in .mp4 format)

  • Target Click: inputting the landing URL is required
  • Enable Skippable Ad and set Skip duration as you may need
  • Companion Banner: it is optional
  • Preview: to preview what your creative looks like
  • Save: to save all the changes you have made

7. Click Publish to finish.

NOTE

To create a Video ad using 3rd party ad tags, refer to below Section 3.

Setting up Facebook Creative

XPO is integrated with Facebook's API, giving you access to the full stack of placement options that Facebook offers its partners. Follow the instruction below to create a Facebook ad:

1. Under Creative menu, click on +CREATIVE.

  • Creative Name: give creative a name you will remember and be able to quickly identify
  • Advertiser: select the advertiser you wish to set up the campaign for from the dropdown list
  • Facebook Ad Account: select the advertiser you wish to set up the campaign for from the dropdown list
  • Creative Type: Select Facebook Ads Creative Type you wish to create:
    • Carousel Ad
    • Single Image Ad
    • Photo Ad 
    • Text Ad
    • Page Ad
    • Existing Page Post Page
    • Video Ad
    • Product Catalog Ad
    • Slideshow Ad
    • Lead Ad

4. Once done, click on Submit to finish.

About Facebook Lead Ads

The small screen on mobiles is a major hindrance to businesses collecting quality leads. Facebook’s Lead ads are custom-designed to make it easier for interested customers to reach out to businesses. These ads appear in the form of a pop-up, pre-populated with Facebook contact information of the interested customer. Since users aren’t required to fill-in any information, Lead Ads significantly increase the likelihood of users using these forms to reach out to businesses. Facebook Lead Ads can also be customized to accommodate and highlight important questions and can be used in combination with Facebook’s audience selection and optimization techniques to reach out to the right audience. 

Knorex partners can now use the XPO platform to create and serve Facebook Lead Ads.

Create A Facebook Creative

a) Under the Creative menu, click +Creative.

b) Name the Creative.

c) Select Advertiser.

d) Click on Facebook Ads, then select Lead Ad.

e) Select the Facebook Ad Account.

f) Click Submit.

Design Your Facebook Lead Ad

Open the creative you just created under the creative menu.

There are two structures available to choose from:

(1) Carousel (2 or more scrollable image or videos)

(2) Single Image or Video

c) Select your Instagram account from drop down list.

d) Select any of the options under Cards.

Recommended Image Specs

  • Valid aspect ratios: 100x100, 100x72, 191x100, 400x150, 400x500, 600x360, 90x160
  • To maximize ad delivery, use an image that contains little or no overlaid text

Once all of the above is done, click Save.

TIP

While designing Facebook Lead ads, use the customization filters available on XPO to ask your potential customers only the relevant questions. This will ensure your ads remain interesting and your audience interested.

Setting up Search Creative

Follow the instruction below to create a Search ad:

1. Under Creative menu, click +CREATIVE.

2. Select Search Ads

3. Fill in Creative Info:

  • Creative Name: give creative a name you will remember and be able to quickly identify.
  • Advertiser: which can be selected from the dropdown list
  • Adwords Account: Select one from the dropdown list. Please contact your account manager to create an Adwords Ad Account for your account

4. Click Submit.

5. Customize your Search Ads

  • Final URL: The URL that people reach after clicking on your ad. It should match what your ad promotes. The maximum allowed character is 30.
  • Headline: The ad text consists of 3 headlines maximum where you can enter up to 30 characters each.
  • Description: You can use the description fields to highlight details about your product or service. The maximum allowed character is 90.

5. Click Save once all steps are completed.

Setting up Search Creative - Ad Extensions

Follow the instruction below to create a Search Extension ad:

1. Under the Creative menu, click +CREATIVE.

2. Select Search Creative - Search Extension

3. Fill up Extension Info > Click Submit

  • Creative Name: give creative a name you will remember and be able to quickly identify
  • Advertiser: which can be selected from the dropdown list
  • Adwords account: select one from the dropdown list. Please contact your Knorex Account Manager to create an Adwords Ad Account for your account
  • Extension Types: select one of the options below
    • Sitelink
    • Callout
    • Message
    • Price
    • App
    • Promotion
    • Call
    • Structured Snippet

Click on Submit once all steps are completed

3. Setting Creative via 3rd Party Ad Tags

XPO Media Broker supports third-party ad serving for Display, Standard Banner, and Video ads. Follow the instructions below to upload the ad tag:

Display and Standard Banner

1. Under Creative menu, click +CREATIVE.

2. Select Third-party tag under Display and Standard Banner Creative Type

3. Fill in Creative Info:

  • Creative Name: give creative a name you will remember and be able to quickly identify.
  • Advertiser: which can be selected from the dropdown list
  • Channel: choose either Web or Mobile
  • Where will this creative be displayed?: you need to create a separate creative for China. Otherwise, select Worldwide (excl. China)
  • Where do you want the users to go?: input website landing page that you wish to link to the ad
  • Size: which can be selected from the dropdown list. If you cannot find the size you need, please reach out to your Knorex Account Manager.
  • Script: Input a Third-party ad Tag/script
  • Start Date, Timezone and End Date: the duration for which the ad will run
  • Will this creative end?: choose either yes or no
  • Third-party Trackers: key in the information in case you want to add more trackers to the ad

4. Once done, click Submit.

Video(VAST/VPAID)

1. Under Creative menu, click +CREATIVE.

2. Select Third-party Video Ads under Video Ads Creative Type

  • Creative Name: give creative a name you will remember and be able to quickly identify.
  • Advertiser: which can be selected from the dropdown list
  • Where will this creative be displayed?: you need to create a separate creative for China. Otherwise, select Worldwide (excl. China)
  • Where do you want the users to go: input website landing page that you wish to link to the ad
  • Start Date, Timezone and End Date: the duration for which the ad will run
  • Will this creative end?: choose either yes or no
  • Third-party Trackers: key in the information in case you want to add more trackers to the ad

6. On XPO Designer window, you can upload a VAST/VPAID XML file or input VAST/VPAID URL

  • Companion Banners are optional
  • Preview: to preview your creative
  • Save: to save all your settings

7. Click on Publish to finish.

Supported Macros for Third Party Ad Tags

A macro is a placeholder (for example: {CLICK_URL}) that an ad server replaces with a real value when the creative serves. Use macros in your tags when you want XPO to insert information into the tag in real time.

For example, you are using this third-party ad tag:

The third-party ad server expects an XPO click tracking URL after "click=". To get this URL, insert a click tracking macro in the tag:

Each time the ad is served, the placeholder {CLICK_URL} is replaced with the actual click tracking URL from XPO.
